Members of the Zlab group from Nanjing University embarked on a memorable autumn outing to Yuantouzhu (Turtle Head Isle) in Wuxi on Saturday, November 15th. The day, characterized by unseasonably warm and sunny weather reminiscent of a fine autumn day rather than mid-November, provided a perfect backdrop for a day of scenic beauty and natural wonders.
The team spent a delightful day exploring the picturesque peninsula, renowned for its stunning Taihu Lake vistas. The highlight of the visit was the breathtaking spectacle of thousands of red-beaked gulls, migrating from Siberia, gracing the skies and waters of the lake. These graceful visitors, on their long seasonal journey, created a dynamic and mesmerizing scene against the vast expanse of Taihu.
As the afternoon progressed, the group was treated to another natural masterpiece—a magnificent sunset. The sun descended slowly, casting a warm, golden glow over the lake and painting the sky in vibrant hues of orange, pink, and purple. The silhouettes of the soaring gulls against the twilight canvas formed a harmonious and unforgettable picture, perfectly concluding the day's adventures.
This outing was a wonderful opportunity for our team to bond outside the lab and immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature, said a group representative. Witnessing the incredible migration of the Siberian seagulls alongside such a peaceful sunset was truly awe-inspiring. It was a refreshing and inspiring experience for all of us.
The enjoyable outing successfully combined team building with the appreciation of nature's splendors, leaving the Zlab members with cherished memories of a perfect autumn weekend filled with warmth, camaraderie, and breathtaking scenery.
